Still Life series - Splendid Light
						
This series stems from the windows of my urban landscapes. I observe outdoor scenery from the window, and inadvertently notice the potted plants nearby. The outdoor light creates a backlit effect when shining on the potted plants. The effect diverges from the light I usually attend to in still lifes. Looking back at the landscapes I have photographed, I find that I am drawn to this kind of atmosphere. In the past, the light in my still lifes is more classical, so I started to experiment with backlighting as the main direction of light. Since we live in low latitude, the time frame for backlighting and elongated shadows is fleeting. It reminds me of the saying that time is fleeting, so I use time as the theme of this series.
